The OBA reached out to all Chairs and PALs with an invitation to a working group on Bill 227, Cutting Red Tape, Building Ontario Act, 2024.

Phase 1 of the Courts Digital Transformation will launch in Summer 2025 in the Toronto region. The new digital justice solution will be implemented over the coming years and will replace the existing Justice Services Online platform.

The LSO is making significant changes to the way that lawyers and firms pay their fees. Firms and organizations that would like to participate in the bulk payment process (where firms make one payment for their roster of lawyers) must notify the Law Society by December 6, 2024, by emailing accounts@LSO.ca. The Superior Court of Justice and Ministry of the Attorney General are seeking candidates to join DRO panels in the following locations:

The Government of Canada is seeking qualified candidates to serve on the new EI Board of Appeal. The EI Board of Appeal will replace the Social Security Tribunal EI Section for first level EI appeals.

The Judicial Appointments Advisory Committee is looking for suitable candidates to fill six vacancies at the Ontario Court of Justice.
