Effective January 1, 2025, all LSO licensees (lawyers and paralegals) must use the Tribunals Ontario Portal (TOP), the Landlord and Tenant Board’s case management system, to access any file-related documents, and to submit certain documents for all proceedings where they are representing a party or where the licensee is a party to the proceeding.

On January 13, 2025, O. Reg. 3/25 was filed to amend the Rules of the Small Claims Court. The regulation makes changes across seven key areas.

O. Reg. 384/24 makes changes to require certification of the authenticity of the authorities cited in factums and certification of the authenticity of expert reports and eliminate duplicate filing of notices of application. The regulation came into effect December 1, 2024.
