On June 22nd, the 2016 Award of Excellence in the Promotion of Women’s Equality was presented to Sukanya Pillay, Executive Director and General Counsel, Canadian Civil Liberties Association & Education Trust at a dinner in her honour. Ms. Pillay addressed delegates and shared her wisdom and experiences on the challenges and opportunities in promoting women’s equality in Canada and around the world.

On Wednesday, May 20, 2015 Professor Brenda Cossman, University of Toronto was presented with the OBA Award for Excellence in the Promotion of Women's Equality.

On Tuesday, May 27, 2014 Kate A. Hughes was presented with the OBA Award for Excellence in the Promotion of Women's Equality.

Maryellen Symons says through her work as a lawyer and legal researcher, examining the law from a feminist perspective, she came to realize that laws “too often reflect and reinforce social inequities.”

On November 4, 2013 the OBA's first program in our "Life and Law series took place. A unparalleled faculty of women speaker shared their key strategies and learned lessons on achieving success in the legal profession and maintaining balance.

The Feminist Legal Analysis Section of the OBA has changed its name to "Women Lawyers' Forum". The first group in the OBA/CBA to focus on women is celebrating its 20th anniversary and moving forward as part of the national women's conference of the CBA.

On June 5th, the Women Lawyers Forum had a launch party event which included the ‘premiere’ of a short video celebrating the rich history and contributions of FLAC as well as a sneak peek at some plans for the up-coming year.
