Twenty years ago the Feminist Legal Analysis Section became the first of its kind in the CBA. In 2003 the CBA established the national Women Lawyers Forum, and now we are proud to say that we have Women Lawyers Forum sections in every province and territory except Nunavut. FLAC has supported the establishment of these new sections for women lawyers and has decided it is time to change our name to ‘Women Lawyers Forum’ to make our Section consistent with the rest of Canada.
On June 5th, the Women Lawyers Forum had a launch party event which included the ‘premiere’ of a short video celebrating the rich history and contributions of FLAC as well as a sneak peek at some plans for the up-coming year.
