Tell us about yourself.
I was born and raised in Ukraine, where I graduated from two law schools. I worked in Kiev for a year practicing commercial/family/estates litigation and corporate/commercial law. I moved to Canada in 2010 for studies and started working as a legal assistant shortly after. In 2014, I was accepted into the Global Professional Masters of Law program at the University of Toronto and in 2016 I received a certificate from the National Committee of Accreditation of the Federation of Law Societies of Canada, which allowed me to start articling and write my bar exams. In 2017, I was called to the bar in Ontario. I am currently an associate with the Fogler, Rubinoff LLP commercial real estate group. I joined the firm as a law clerk in 2015 and the firm supported me during my accreditation/articling process. I have two Scottish fold cats, Toby and Benjamin. I take voice lessons, learn how to play piano, learn Kung Fu, work out and practice mindfulness.
Why did you join the WLF Executive?
I wanted to expand my network and get to know fabulous women in the practice. Through the WLF, I am able to learn about and from others, be of help with work OBA does, and have more meaningful interactions.
