I went into practice on my own in the summer of 2000, about a year and a half after my call to the bar. A friend of mine had started her own practice doing criminal law. There was an office available beside hers. I decided to take the space and start my own practice while working on my L.L.M.

On February 3, 2016, the Women Lawyer Forum’s (WLF) Institute hosted the lunch program Be the Rainmaker: Business Development Strategies for Today’s Lawyer. The program’s goal was to help attendees (a) distinguish themselves and attract the right clients, (b) identify their client base, and (c) develop plans to maintain momentum.

On October 29, 2015, a sell-out crowd filled the Lamont Learning Centre at Osgoode Hall to attend the CPD program “Women in the Legal Profession: How to be Successful”. This program was jointly held by the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Ontario Bar Association, and the Women’s Law Association of Ontario and was very well-attended both in person and online. It’s easy to see why- it was a very useful and stimulating program.
