OBA members gathered virtually on March 16, 2021 for the Trusts and Estates Section’s Brown Bag Lunch. This was further to an issue that had arisen at the February BBL, where one BBLer had shared his screen with other attendees for the purpose of discussing the features of the electronically issued certificates of appointment. It appeared that the date printed on that particular certificate and the date on which the electronic signature had been applied were different. The BBLer has since made some enquiries and shared at the March meeting that he understood that a notice had now been circulated to the Estate Registrars to advise that digital signatures and the date indicated on the electronic certificate of appointment should match going forward.
