About Us
The OBA Labour and Employment Section is dedicated to the development of continued learning opportunities, advocacy and engagement of labour and employment law practitioners, whether representing management, unions, and/or employees. Our efforts and programming bring together recognized experts in all areas of labour and employment, including, but not limited to, employment standards, collective bargaining, government initiatives, legislative changes, effective advocacy, and dispute settlement.
The Labour and Employment Section hosts a variety of committees including:
- Programming Committee
- Public Affairs/Government Relations Committee
- Newsletter Committee
- Awards Committee
- Social and Networking Committee
The Section regularly liaises with the government, administrative tribunals and stakeholders such as:
- Ontario Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development
- Ontario Courts and the Judiciary
- Ontario Labour Relations Board
- Ontario Human Rights Tribunal
Through regular newsletters and access to our archive of resources, Section members can stay informed on the latest developments in labour and employment law. Members can also contribute articles to our publications.
