About

  • Class actions law is the OBA’s newest section, with its roots as a Committee of the Civil Litigation Section.
  • This section encourages practitioners (plaintiff and defence), members of the judiciary, corporate counsel, and academics interested in class actions to liaise, analyze important issues in this growing field, market their practices, and provide CLE programs.
  • Class Actions Section membership provides an opportunity for a role in advocacy in order to improve and coordinate the rules and legislation governing class actions on a number of topics of controversy, such as national class actions.
  • In addition to plaintiff and defence counsel with a primary focus on class action law, section membership will appeal to those practising in civil litigation, business law, municipal law, health law, constitutional law, human rights law, franchise law as well as corporate counsel.
