Ontario Bar Association Past-President Karen Perron has been appointed an associate judge of the Superior Court of Justice of Ontario in Ottawa.
A proud Franco-Ontarian from Timmins, her mandate during an extended 2021-2023 presidential term connected lawyers and helped OBA members tap directly into – and gain full advantage of – the power, the expertise, and the opportunity found in the OBA community.
Associate Justice Perron has also dedicated time to volunteering in community initiatives such as the Law Society Foundation’s Lawyers Feed the Hungry program, and the board of the Community Information Centre of Ottawa. She won the OBA’s Linda Adlam Manning Award for Volunteerism in 2016, was nominated for the Canadian Law Awards’ Female Trailblazer of the Year and has been recognized multiple times in Best Lawyers in Canada in the corporate and commercial litigation field.
Chief Justice Geoffrey B. Morawetz has assigned Associate Justice Perron to Ottawa to fill the vacancy created when former Associate Justice Alexandre Kaufman was appointed a judge of the Superior Court of Justice.
