CBA Board Recruitment (Indigenous and Equity-Deserving Candidates)

The Governance & Equity Committee has initiated the process to recruit, review, and recommend Indigenous and Equity-Deserving candidates for appointment to the national Board next year, under section 33.1 of the Bylaws.

As part of the ongoing commitment to ensure that the Canadian Bar Association’s Board reflects the diversity of the legal profession, we are seeking your recommendations for candidates to be named to two new national Board positions, one which is reserved for a CBA member who is Indigenous and one which is reserved for a CBA member with lived experience as a member of an equity-deserving group. These representatives would serve a two-year term, from September 1st, 2025, to August 31st, 2027 inclusive.

If you have suggestions for these representatives, please let us know by emailing policy@oba.org by December 6, 2024. We are looking for people with demonstrated leadership skills and a strong dedication to advancing the legal profession.
