Provincial Government Amending the Personal Property Security Act to clarify issues regarding Purchase Money Security Interests December 08, 2020 The OBA sought to amend the Personal Property Security Act (PPSA) to clarify issues with respect to the Purchase Money Security Interest (PMSI) regime. The existing regime can result in confusions making them a relatively ineffective security. This also can lead to unnecessarily complex situations causing accounting issues and uncertainty in the correct allocation of payments to creditors. This proposal seeks to amend the PPSA to clarify these issues.
