The Ontario Bar Association (“OBA”) is pleased to provide this submission to the Law Society of Upper Canada Task Force on Compliance-Based Entity Regulation in response to its Consultation Paper: “Promoting Better Legal Practices” (“the Consultation Paper”).

“As Chair of the Ontario Bar Association (“OBA”) Taxation Law Section, I am writing regarding the recent retroactive changes made to the land transfer tax regime by Ontario Regulation 35/16. Enclosed is a submission prepared by members of our section and the Canadian Bar Association/Chartered Professional Accountants Joint Taxation Committee.”

The Ontario Bar Association (the “OBA”) appreciates the opportunity to provide a submission to the Gender Wage Gap Steering Committee (the “Steering Committee”), appointed in April 2015 by the Minister of Labour to lead a public consultation on “Closing the Gender Wage Gap” (the “Consultation”), after which the Steering Committee will make recommendations that inform a strategy to close the wage gap between men and women.
