The Ministry of the Attorney General has launched an enhanced Court Finder Tool on Ontario.ca as part of its Justice Accelerated Strategy.

The Government of Ontario has made regulatory amendments under the Business Corporations Act, Corporations Act, Co-operative Corporations Act, Condominium Act, 1998 (Condo Act) and the Not-for-Profit Corporations Act, 2010 which extend the effective period of temporary legislative provisions permitting corporations governed under these statutes to call and hold meetings virtually, as applicable, notwithstanding certain restrictions or requirements.

Chief Justice George Strathy will be retiring on August 31, 2022. Chief Justice Strathy retires from his position as Chief Justice of Ontario and as a judge of the Court of Appeal for Ontario after having served as Chief Justice for eight years and as a trial and appellate judge for almost fifteen years.

Regional Senior Justice Ricchetti released today a Notice to the Professions and Parties that addresses mode of hearing, document filing and other matters. This Central West Notice to the Professions and Parties, made pursuant to Rule 1.07(4), applies to all proceedings in the Superior Court of Justice, Central West Region, commencing April 19, 2022. This Notice supersedes all previous region-specific Practice Directions and Notices to the Profession for the Central West Region.

Today, the Honourable Calum MacLeod released the below Interim Notice to the Profession in the East Region.

On March 23, 2022, a regulation was filed to amend the court rules and forms for civil proceedings: O. Reg. 224/22, amending the Rules of Civil Procedure.

On February 18, 2022 the Recovery Division communicated that the ministry is moving forward with resuming in-person proceedings at road-access satellite court locations.  We are providing this email to offer some additional information.
