A panel of four Ottawa lawyers shared their stories on how they ended up working outside of firms and offered their best advice for young lawyers who are considering an alternative legal career. The panel members included Audrey Barrett (National Judicial Institute), Deborah Bayley (Privy Council Office, Government of Canada), Erin McNamara (Scotiabank) and Stefano Taucer (Rogers Communications). On October 29, 2015, a sell-out crowd filled the Lamont Learning Centre at Osgoode Hall to attend the CPD program “Women in the Legal Profession: How to be Successful”. This program was jointly held by the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Ontario Bar Association, and the Women’s Law Association of Ontario and was very well-attended both in person and online. It’s easy to see why- it was a very useful and stimulating program.
