At the 10th Annual Tom Marshall Award of Excellence for Public Sector Lawyers, the Honourable Howard I. Wetston was recognized for his contribution to public service. This article overviews the event, which included tributes by Chief Justice Paul Crampton of the Federal Court; Murray Segal, Former Deputy Attorney General and Chief Prosecutor of Ontario; and Alan Lenczner, Commissioner of the Ontario Securities Commission.

A panel of four Ottawa lawyers shared their stories on how they ended up working outside of firms and offered their best advice for young lawyers who are considering an alternative legal career. On October 29, 2015, a sell-out crowd filled the Lamont Learning Centre at Osgoode Hall to attend the CPD program “Women in the Legal Profession: How to be Successful”. This program was jointly held by the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Ontario Bar Association, and the Women’s Law Association of Ontario and was very well-attended both in person and online. It’s easy to see why- it was a very useful and stimulating program.
