New SEC Rules require enhanced disclosure of government payments by resource extraction issuers and use of conflict minerals

On January 3, 2012, Ontario Superior Court Justice Carole Brown J. granted an injunction to the Wahgoshig First Nation restraining a junior minor from engaging in all mining exploration activities for 120 days on Treaty 9 lands.

This case involved the interpretation of an option agreement. Murphy, a mineral prospector, granted Crosshair Exploration and Mining Corp. an option to acquire a 90% interest in certain mineral licences which granted the right to explore lands in Labrador.
