This year the Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General introduced a new online service for filing civil claims for six locations in the Superior Court of Justice. The service, which can be accessed here, has been available in the pilot locations of Brampton, Ottawa, London, Newmarket and Sudbury for approximately five months and in Toronto for two months.

The Ontario government intends to transition the review of procurement complaints to third-party providers.

The OBA welcomes the 2017-2018 Construction and Infrastructure Law Section Executive. The new executives assume their roles on August 15th, 2017. The Construction and Infrastructure Law executive is responsible for facilitating learning, advocacy and networking on behalf of Construction and Infrastructure Law section.

For several years, the Ontario Bar Association ("OBA") has advocated for modernization of our civil justice system. As I have discussed with you in our earlier meetings, this is a critical priority for our members and for me personally as the OBA President.
