Welcome to our final edition of the Civil Litigation Section Newsletter for the 2021 session. I would like to thank my colleagues for their support for the Newsletter throughout the past year, and would like to thank outgoing Chair of the Civil Litigation Section, Justin Nassiri for his support.
I am pleased to be returning as Newsletter editor for the coming year, and hope each of our members will consider contributing to the Newsletter as a way to share your knowledge and expertise with your colleagues.
In this edition, we have excellent submissions from Megan Keenberg, of Van Kralingen & Keenberg LLP on case management arbitration, an interview with some of Ontario’s best litigators, Anne Posno of Lenzcner Slaght LLP, David Steinberg of Steinberg Barristers and Nadia Campion of Lax O'Sullivan Lisus Gottlieb LLP on virtual litigation.
We also have an article on an interesting and not often encountered phenomenon, self-represented litigants before the Supreme Court of Canada, by my partner Cameron Fiske. And finally, at a time of greater court backlog, Stuart Rudner's helpful guide to achieving the best results at mediation provides some timely and succinct advice.
