On behalf of the Ontario Bar Association's Alternative Dispute Resolution Section Executive, we would like to welcome all section members to a very exciting year ahead of us.
The OBA ADR Executive Committee provided virtual programming throughout the pandemic, and will continue to do so for the upcoming year. Some of our programming will be held in-person too. The Committee has a number of upcoming programs, including programming on the following topics:
- Neutral Diversity
- Creativity in Dispute Resolution
- Professionalism and Ethics in ADR
The OBA’s ADR programming is off to its hottest start yet. On Tuesday, November 1, Vance Cooper received the Award of Excellence to a refreshingly in-person crowd at the OBA Conference Centre at 20 Toronto Street. On Thursday, November 3, the Mediation Bootcamp drew almost 50 attendees, while featuring distinguished speakers from across Ontario (Toronto, Windsor, Sudbury, Ottawa, for starters), with Past Chair Mana Khami and Vice-Chair Matthew Gordon moderating.
In addition to the 2022-2023 CPD programs, the OBA ADR Executive will be hosting mentorship and networking events, which we hope our members will take advantage of and participate in. Further details about these events will be provided in future newsletters, as well as on OBA's social media accounts.
