DUVADIE Law is looking to hire an articling student for the 2024-2025 term.
DUVADIE Law focusses primarily on criminal law with additional family law files. Mr. Duvadie is a sole practitioner who you will work directly alongside. Additionally, you will work with a part-time law student.
The ideal candidate would have a demonstrated interest in criminal law, either through prior experience or education. Any experience in family law is an asset. This is a hybrid position with expectations of regular in office days.
Required Skillset
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience with legal research and writing
- Motivated to learn and have a good work ethic
- Proficient with technology (Clio, Teams, Microsoft software)
Job Description
- Attend court virtually and in person at direction of counsel
- Review disclosure
- Conduct client intakes
- Legal research, prepare factums/memo’s
- Prepare Charter applications and family law pleadings
- Attend Counsel Pre-Trials
- Attend court appearances with counsel to assist with notetaking
