Our client, a small, but successful, litigation boutique, has a busy caseload and is seeking an experienced and like-minded litigator to be a key member of the firm.
The principal of the firm left a big Bay Street law firm several years ago and has built a thriving commercial litigation practice. The firm focuses on complex business disputes, including shareholder and partnership matters, investment loss and fraud recovery and securities litigation. In addition, it has a substantial regulatory defence practice acting for clients responding to investigations and proceedings initiated by the Ontario Securities Commission, the Financial Services Regulatory Authority and a variety of other regulators and professional colleges.
The ideal candidate would be a smart and resourceful senior associate or junior partner from a top commercial litigation firm, who is looking for a more entrepreneurial platform to build their practice. A partial portable practice is welcome, but not necessary. This firm maintains high quality litigation work comparable to larger firms, but also offers greater independence and flexible work arrangements. It encourages business development and facilitates the ability of someone to build a compatible book of business without many of the fee restrictions or conflicts of interest prevalent at other firms.
