OBA FOUNDATION AWARD
The OBA Foundation Award recognizes exceptional contributions to the improvement of the justice system through public legal education, innovative research, or other means.
The Foundation encourages the nomination of award candidates from equity-seeking groups whose work and accomplishments may have been unnoticed in the wider legal community.
ELIGIBILITY
The OBA Foundation Award is presented to:
- a member of the Bar of Ontario who has practiced or has taught in an Ontario law school;
- an articling student or a law student enrolled in an Ontario law school;
- a member of the judiciary in Ontario; or
- an organization in Ontario.
2025 NOMINATIONS
Nominations for the 2025 Award, to be presented at the OBA Gala Awards Dinner (or virtually should an in-person presentation not be possible), should be submitted to the
Trustees of the OBA Foundation, c/o Antoine Collins,
Antoine.Collins@irb-cisr.gc.ca and should include the following:
- name, contact information and current CV of the nominee;
- name and contact information of the nominator;
- a description of the nominee’s contributions to the improvement of the justice system through public legal education including research and other means.
Nominations must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on March 28, 2025 to be considered.
SELECTION COMMITTEE
The Selection Committee is a sub-committee of the OBA Foundation Trustees.
Previous OBA Foundation Award winners are:

- Omar Ha-Redeye;
- Luke’s Place; and
- The Honourable Todd Archibald.
