The Ontario Bar Association (OBA) hosts Canada’s largest annual legal gathering from February 2-6, 2016. Now in its 41st year, OBA’s Institute 2016 is the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) event for Ontario lawyers in every practice area with more than 30 programs and networking events.
“Institute attracts the best and brightest of the legal profession to share knowledge and debate the burning issues shaping law today. The great programming has the added bonus of fulfilling all your CPD requirements early for the year" says May Cheng, Co-Chair of the Ontario Bar Association’s Institute Committee. “It is the premier opportunity to network with colleagues in your area of practice and beyond in a series of special events, social gatherings and receptions,” adds Co-Chair Paul Lomic.
New this year, OBA’s Institute is even easier to attend in Toronto, Ottawa or online. This event is expected to bring together more than 1700 of Ontario’s lawyers, justices, law professors and law students.
Building on the success of the OBA’s landmark work this past year to promote mental health awareness and wellbeing in the legal profession, three new Mindful Lawyer modules will be launched in 2016. The first will be at OBA’s Institute 2016, Implement a Restorative Action Plan taking place on Wednesday, February 3rd.
The Ontario Bar Association, a branch of the Canadian Bar Association, is the largest voluntary legal association in Ontario and represents more than 16,000 members from across the province.
