Ontario Bar Association President Karen Perron has been nominated for the Canadian Law Awards’ Female Trailblazer of the Year (Private Practice).
Established three years ago, the awards recognize the country’s leading lawyers, law firms, in-house legal teams, deals and cases. The winners in 20 categories will be announced at an awards gala on May 19.
Perron – who is the 11th female president in the 114-year history of the OBA – is considered one of the top commercial litigators in the country. In addition to her legal accolades, she has been recognized for her volunteer work both within the legal community and in Ottawa where she lives. In 2016, she was awarded the OBA’s Linda Adlam Manning Award for Volunteerism.
Her presidential mandate is focused on building upon the connection OBA members across the province already have – with each other and with the tools they need to thrive, wherever they are situated, within a rapidly modernizing world of law.
