The Ontario Bar Association congratulates Justice Lorne Sossin on his appointment today to the Superior Court of Justice of Ontario.
Justice Sossin has been a prominent figure in the legal sector for many years. As dean of the Osgoode Hall Law School, he contributed to the growth and modernization of law schools in Ontario through initiatives focused on accessibility in legal education, expansion of clinics and experiential learning, and reconciliation with Indigenous peoples.
Justice Sossin has been a prolific writer and is a former recipient of the Mundell Medal for Legal Writing. He was twice named one of Canadian Lawyer’s top 25 most influential lawyers, and recently served as a presenter at the OBA’s inaugural Inclusive Leader Series program, speaking to the importance of promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
We wish Justice Sossin all the best as he joins Ontario’s judiciary.
