The OBA Awards Gala 2018 will take place April 25, 2018 at the Omni King Edward Hotel (37 King St. E., Toronto, ON). The annual black-tie-optional event is an inspired evening that celebrates exceptional contributions members of the bar have made to the profession.

The OBA has been advised by the Attorney General that the Convention on the Law Applicable to Trusts and on their Recognition, done at The Hague on July 1, 1985 (the Hague Trust Convention), and set out in Schedule 1 to the International Recognition of Trusts Act, 2017 will come into force on May 1, 2018

Ontario’s Ministry of the Attorney General recently announced an $86 million investment in legal aid services. It includes $17.2M for community legal clinics and student legal aid services societies.
