Justice Thomas Cromwell to speak on future of family law
Justice Thomas Cromwell of the Supreme Court of Canada is speaking at the Ontario Bar Association’s annual OBA Institute event on the future of family law.
Justice Cromwell chaired a working group that looked at ways to improve access to family law. Its report, issued in April 2013, contained 33 recommendations, including ways to reduce adversarial behaviour, to reduce costs, and to speed the resolution of family law disputes.
Cromwell will talk about his report and the future of family law on Friday, Feb. 7 at 3:15 pm.
OBA Institute, an annual continuing professional development conference for lawyers, features more than 300 speakers and more than 25 exhibitors. It happens Feb. 6-7 at Toronto’s Westin Harbour Castle Convention Centre and Feb. 8 at the OBA’s convention centre at 20 Toronto Street.
