Biography

Rauf Azimov is an associate in the litigation department. He is a dedicated and approachable advocate, known for his intellect and ability to distill complex legal issues into clear and practical advice. Rauf’s extensive experience working closely with trial and appellate judges has given him unique insight into judicial reasoning and decision-making processes. This understanding allows him to anticipate potential outcomes and tailor his advocacy to resonate more effectively with the court. Prior to joining Daoust Vukovich LLP, Rauf worked under the mentorship of a highly respected sole practitioner in Vaughan as a commercial litigator with a focus on construction and real estate disputes, representing individuals, companies, and municipalities at the Superior Court of Justice and the Court of Appeal for Ontario. Rauf clerked at the Court of Appeal for Ontario and articled at a full-service national firm in Toronto, where he specialized in corporate commercial litigation and international trade. He also worked as a prosecutor for Peel Crown Attorney’s Office where he prosecuted offences under the Criminal Code of Canada. Rauf attended Osgoode Hall Law School where he won the Blakes, Casses & Graydon LLP Award for high academic achievement. He edited Halsbury’s Laws of Canada – Conflict of Laws as a research assistant to Professor Janet Walker. He also completed an externship with judges of the Ontario Court of Justice at Old City Hall. Prior to attending law school, Rauf completed his Honours Bachelor of Arts at the University of Toronto and graduated with high distinction.
