Biography

After attending Wilfrid Laurier University and earning a Bachelor of Arts focusing on Political Science, David Reeve attended the University of Sussex in Brighton, England. There he studied Canadian, British, and European law and obtained a First Class LLB with Honours. After returning from Sussex, David completed his Articling at Camden Lane Law Chambers with some of the top criminal defence lawyers in Toronto including John Struthers, Maija Martin, and David Butt. David completed his articling in August of 2019. He was Licensed by the Law Society of Ontario and called to the Bar in September of 2019. Since being called to the Bar David has been practicing exclusively criminal law with a focus on both trial and appellate advocacy. David has appeared at all levels of court in Ontario and has experience dealing with serious matters including Murder, Manslaughter, Sexual Assault, and Drug Possession at trial and on appeal. In addition, David has gained extensive experience representing complainants and ensuring that their rights are respected in the criminal process. David has appeared in the Court of Appeal for Ontario as Counsel on the hearing of several appeals and on applications for bail pending appeal for clients recently convicted of criminal offences. David appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada in R v J.J./R v A.S. 2022 SCC 28. David seeks to use his international experience as a comparative lens with which to examine Canadian criminal law and develop effective and innovative arguments in the pursuit of justice for his clients. He looks forward to hearing about your case and preparing your defence.
