Biography
Igor Ellyn is a Chartered Arbitrator, Mediator and Legal Counsel, whose practice is focussed on complex commercial disputes, in shareholder, corporate disputes, real estate, commercial leasing, manufacturing and distribution cases, foreign judgment and arbitration enforcement and anti-SLAPP defamation.
He is a past president of OBA and Past Chair of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Toronto Chapter and the past co-Chair of the CIArb-Canada Annual Symposium.
He is the author of Litigating and Arbitrating Business Disputes; Enforcement of Money Judgments in Canada; and Liabilities of Corporate Directors in Canada. He is co-editor of ArbitrationandBusinessCases.ca. H
e also acts as an expert witness on Canadian corporate and arbitration law and practice in Canada and globally. Igor Ellyn is a member of several international arbitration panels, including ICC (Canada), ICDR (American Arbitration Association), BIAC and ADR Chambers International. He has arbitrated domestic and international commercial disputes both as arbitrator and as counsel. He was a guest arbitrator at the ICDR Practice Moots and at the VIS East International Arbitration Moots.
