Biography
Pierre Champagne is a partner of the Gowling WLG's Ottawa office. He practices in various areas of civil and commercial litigation.
Pierre has been extensively involved in various civil and commercial litigations, including injunctive relief proceedings. He has acted on behalf of both the public and private sector, and in particular in relation to a variety of industries and professions, including: accountants, denturists, engineers, investment advisors, insurance brokers and agents, home inspectors, insurance adjusters, school boards, municipalities, religious institutions, professional health associations, lawyers, banks, business owners, software distributors, as well as construction and insurance companies.
With extensive experience in front of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Court of Appeal for Ontario, the Federal Court of Canada and various administrative tribunals, Pierre has a strong reputation of being client-oriented and successful with dispute resolution.
Pierre has taught at the University of Ottawa since 1994. For eight years, he taught law for engineers at the Faculty of Engineering, and since 2003, he has taught civil procedure at the Faculty of Law.
Pierre is fluently bilingual and practises law in both English and French
