“Practicing good law means knowing my clients well,” states partner Michael J. White. “I think it’s why I have so many long-standing relationships with clients, handling everything from their business issues to succession planning, estate planning and administration, and charitable and family trusts they want to establish.” That’s why Michael feels such great pride when a client describes him as “my family’s lawyer.” To him, it means that he’s established not just a deep understanding of the business, financial and personal aspirations of the client but that he’s formed an enduring bond of trust with them, as well. Indeed, Michael acts frequently as a sounding board when a client seeks is developing a financial or business opportunity, or when they want to avoid unnecessary complications before they might arise. Throughout the planning and project implementation process, Michael helps clients directly and by working alongside their other professional advisors. His expertise is widely recognised in the profession. Michael is a charter member of the Canadian Branch of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners as well as a member of the Estate Planning Council of Toronto, the Canadian Tax Foundation, the Lawyer's Club of Toronto and the Osgoode Society. In addition to being admitted to the bar in Ontario, is a member of the Law Society of England and the Canadian, Ontario and American Bar Associations.
