Biography
Ishita is a foreign trained corporate lawyer focusing primarily on capital markets practice. She worked as a leader in the New York office of Nishith Desai and Associates (a leading Indian firm), focusing on cross border commercial transactions. Prior to that she was working as a senior associate in the capital markets team of Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas (a Chambers Band 1 firm in India). During her practice, she has represented several marquee clients including large corporates, global underwriters, and private equity investors in both domestic and cross border offerings.
Ishita is admitted to practice in India and is now working towards her licensing process to be admitted with the Ontario Bar Association. She has recently been curious about the evolving social sector laws is particularly fascinated by the emerging concepts of ESG and impact investing. She volunteers as a legal assistant on the leadership team of Icing Smiles, a US based nonprofit with operations in Canada.
