Biography
Chris received his electrical engineering degree from the University of Waterloo in 1981, and MBA and law degrees from the University of Ottawa in 1987. He has been a licensed professional engineer in Ontario since 1983 and has been qualified to practice law since 1989. He is a member of the Law Societies of Upper Canada (Ontario), Alberta, Nunavut and the Northwest Territories. Chris focuses extensively in meeting the needs of clients operating in the communications, Internet, information and computer technology sectors. He also has extensive experience in serving the needs of a wide variety of other business, not-for-profit and government clients. He provides a wide range of services, including:
o representing clients in regulatory proceedings, mediations/arbitrations, litigation matters and appeals
o in the areas of corporate, commercial, employment, privacy, technology, intellectual property, competition and consumer protection law
o strategic and business advice
o corporate governance advice
o corporate secretary functions
o contract drafting, negotiation and administration
o facilitating a wide variety of business transactions
o monitoring developments and trends in certain industry sectors on behalf of clients
Chris also applies his corporate governance expertise by serving on a number of boards and committees.
