Biography
Rachel S. Godley, J.D., LL.M.
Rachel's main practice areas include municipal, planning & development law and animal law. She also holds a specialty certificate in environmental law. Prior to starting her own practice, Rachel gained experience in municipal and planning law at Davis Webb LLP, through her articles at the Environment and Land Tribunals of Ontario (including the Ontario Municipal Board) and by working with planning and municipal lawyers as summer student at WeirFoulds LLP. Her other legal experience includes interning with the Development Law Service at the UN Food and Agriculture Organization in Rome preparing model animal welfare legislation, working at the Dalhousie legal aid Clinic as a student-at-law in Halifax, and volunteering with Canadian Lawyers Abroad in Ghana. She currently serves as the programming director on the executive of the Animal Law section of the Ontario Bar Association. Rachel’s interests include learning languages (conversationally fluent in Spanish, French, and Italian, learning Russian, and German), plant-based cooking, travelling and cultural immersion, and training for her first triathlon.
