Biography
As a Partner at KPMG Law LLP, I practice at KPMG Canada, Family Office and Trusts and Estates Group. I am a lawyer practicing Estates, Trusts, Commercial and Insurance litigation.
I have litigated more than a thousand Court cases. I have experience before all levels of Court in Ontario and the Federal Court of Canada. I have represented clients across Canada, including Ontario, Manitoba and British Columbia. I, also, have appeared before administrative tribunals, regulatory bodies and private arbitrations.
I aggressively pursue my clients' interests. I have been described as "… skilled in the tactical use of procedural steps and proactive in his advice to his client." I am a leading Ontario practitioner in the areas of Estates Litigation, Professional Malpractice, Product Liability and Commercial Insurance.
My clients have trusted me to resolve complex cases involving private wealth disputes, Estates (e.g., Will contests, complaints against Estate Trustees, disputes over property, dependent’s support claims, passing of accounts and Powers of Attorney), Trusts (e.g., complaints against Trustees, interpretation, winding up and passing of accounts), Guardianships (capacity, complaints against Attorneys, disputes between co-Attorneys, passing of accounts and end-of-life decisions), Corporate-Commercial disputes, Life/Disability and Commercial insurance, Product liability, and Fraud.
I have represented some of Canada’s ultra high-net-worth individuals. I, also, represented international and domestic insurance companies, banks, multinational manufacturers, global oil companies, municipalities, professionals (e.g., lawyers, accountants, auditors, financial advisors, veterinarians, pharmacists, engineers, etc.), and family businesses.
I have worked with both the Ontario and Alberta Legislatures and the Canadian Parliament. I am a community activist involved in grassroots advocacy.
