Biography

First admitted to legal practice in South Africa in 2004, Max is an experienced coverage and defence lawyer who has advised on most aspects of insurance coverage, including financial institutions, directors & officers, errors and omissions cover and general commercial liability claims. As far as his litigation experience is concerned, he has acted in complex contractual and tort disputes, having enjoyed success in South Africa’s apex courts. Max has represented a range of professionals including auditors and accountants, architects and engineers, insurance brokers, doctors and allied medical professionals and lawyers in both disciplinary proceedings and in civil litigation. Max holds a Masters degree in Insurance law from University College London (ULon) and a Masters degree in Canadian common law from Osgoode Hall law school. Max has contributed to international publications on the topics of insurance and reinsurance.
