Biography

Russ Hatch is a partner at Blaney McMurtry LLP. He is a member of the Insurance Litigation Group and his practice focuses on insurance defence and commercial litigation matters. Russ has extensive experience in a wide range of tort matters including personal injury, occupiers' and product liability, professional negligence, malicious prosecution, property damage and libel and slander. Russ also defends clients with respect to motor vehicle accident claims, charter issues and police issues. Russ is one of the firm’s most knowledgeable practitioners in the area of automobile insurance issues. Russ has also developed expertise in representing police and security agencies as well as provincial government ministries and municipalities. He does public liability defence work with a particular focus on defence of police services and Ontario government ministries. Russ appears before all levels of court in Ontario including the Ontario Divisional Court and the Ontario Court of Appeal.
