Landlord and Tenant Board – Practice Direction for LSO Licensees

Effective January 1, 2025, all LSO licensees (lawyers and paralegals) must use the Tribunals Ontario Portal (TOP), the Landlord and Tenant Board’s case management system, to access any file-related documents, and to submit certain documents for all proceedings where they are representing a party or where the licensee is a party to the proceeding.

Impacted documents include:

  • request for the Board to Issue a Summons;
  • Request to Extend or Shorten Time (with no additional request attached);
  • Request to Withdraw an Application Form;
  • Request for a Discontinuance Order Without a Hearing Form;
  • Request to Amend an Order;
  • Request to Re-Open an Application;
  • L1/L9 – Information Update;
  • Request to Add a Representative;
  • Unavailable dates for hearings for up to five separate applications;
  • Evidence;
  • Request to hear files together; and
  • Request to Amend an Application.
