As of Tuesday, April 20, individuals 40 and over will be eligible to receive the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine at pharmacies and primary care settings. You must have an appointment to get vaccinated at a participating pharmacy.
The decision to lower the threshold from 55 to 40 years of age comes after Health Canada announced that it was not restricting the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine in any specific populations. Last week, the Ontario government brought in more public health measures to try and stop the growing number of COVID-19 cases in the province.
