Early morning on January 19, 2023, the Ontario Bar Association Construction & Infrastructure Law Section hosted a fire-side chat on the topic of Experiences with Canadian Construction Documents Committee (“CCDC”) Contracts. This event was the first of its kind, offering participants an opportunity to participate remotely or in-person for live discussion and networking. The event was chaired by Dan Fridmar with Lori Goldberg, Josh Strub, Chris Moran, and Ethan McCarthy participating as speakers sharing their experience, wisdom, and knowledge pertaining to CCDC Contracts. During the course of the two-hour experiences, the esteemed panelists lead discussions on the main types of CCDC contracts, as well as the appropriateness of using these contracts in specific circumstances, key areas of CCDC contracts that did not properly integrate with the practical realities of projects, the major differences between commonly used CCDC contracts, as well as general and broad discussion.
