Staff at the Ontario Bar Association held its annual food bank drive resulting in 1,580 lbs or 716 kg of non-perishable food items.
The staff divided into five teams and competed to see which team brought in the most donations.
At an official weigh-in December 20, Team Five was leading with 509 lbs or 230 kg of food and seemed poised to win but was edged out by Team One, with 537 lbs or 243 kg.
A big bag of dried rice proved to be the key success factor which literally tipped the scale and delivered victory to Team One.
The donations will benefit Toronto’s Daily Bread Food Bank.
