On May 30th, the Ontario Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division proudly hosted the inaugural Young Lawyers Gala.

The OBA membership relies upon the legs of 800+ Section executive volunteers, who devote their time to serving and representing our diverse body of lawyers across the province.

From this month’s highly impressive OBA Institute program to individual Sections’ leadership activities, OBA members go to great efforts to advance and promote the profession.

The OBA recognizes and supports those members who lend their skills and expertise to providing pro bono legal services to individuals and organizations in need. Samantha Peters of Toronto highlights her efforts.

I am a firm believer in the importance of advocacy: advocacy for the profession, and advocacy for the justice system as a whole. I want to dedicate this year to raising the issues that affect our ability to practise efficiently and to ensuring the improvement of our justice infrastructure in this era of government cutbacks.
