The Phase 2 Consultation Paper has been released as part of the Civil Rules Review (CRR), launched in January 2024. The CRR’s mandate is to conduct a comprehensive review of the Rules, identify areas for reform, and improve access to justice by reducing delay, cutting costs, and using technical solutions.
The Phase 2 Report proposes a new procedural model for civil proceedings commenced in Ontario. Public consultation is ongoing, and the OBA CRR Taskforce will be leading the response on behalf of the OBA.
