We live in unsettling times and it is affecting lawyers personally in many ways, including worries about loved ones in harm’s way, growing tensions in the workplace and a rise in acts of hate. Not all of our members have a community to lean on, so let us be that community. The OBA is providing supportive resources including our Unite and Support Resources. Our latest addition to these resources is a pilot project that offers a fully funded one-on-one session with a counselor trained in trauma therapy*. This pilot is designed to offer some immediate assistance and to allow members to easily find and test a counsellor for future needs**. When reaching out to counsellors, simply advise that you are an OBA Member and share the code word, OBASUPPORT. The OBA will not be provided with the names of members who use the service or any information in relation to those members. Your name and any information provided during your session will be subject to the counsellor’s own confidentiality procedures and obligations.
For this pilot you can choose from among the following counselling services.
