Since the launch of Ontario Business Registry (OBR) system in October 2021, the Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement (MPBSDP), and the Ontario Bar Association (OBA) established a Working Group. Over the years, this collaborative partnership has addressed legal sector concerns, prioritized OBR system fixes, and implemented work arounds for business registry processes.
Today, this successful partnership continues, working to address emerging issues for the legal sector, and contributing to ongoing enhancements of the OBR system.
Effective February 1, 2025, the ministry has expanded customer choice for business registry services by increasing the number of service provider organizations. The following service providers are now authorized through licence agreements with the Ministry to deliver business-related government products and services:
- Appara AI (Paige Solutions Inc.)
- Dye and Durham Corporation
- ESC Corporate Services Ltd.
- MinuteBox Inc.
- Trulioo Information Services Inc.
All entities registered in the OBR must use a Company Key to conduct transactions whether filing directly through the OBR self-serve portal, through an intermediary or through a service provider. In order for an intermediary or a service provider to conduct registry filings on behalf of an entity, they will need to obtain the Company Key from their client and claim Delegated Authority in the OBR system.
Refer to the Company Key guide on how to request a Company Key, and access the Company Key notice for additional information.

Note: The Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement is not affiliated with nor endorses any specific service provider. Businesses are encouraged to perform their own due diligence when selecting a service provider organization.
