Ministry of the Attorney General - Courts Digital Transformation Go-Live and Training

August 15, 2025

The Courts Digital Transformation (CDT) initiative will officially launch its new digital justice solution in October 2025, for the Toronto region. This will be used in the Superior Court of Justice (SCJ) for Family proceedings, Civil proceedings (including Bankruptcy, Commercial List and Contested Estates), Small Claims Court proceedings and Divisional Court proceedings and Enforcement, and in the Ontario Court of Justice (OCJ) for Family proceedings.

This launch marks the beginning of a broader, multi-phase rollout aimed at modernizing court operations across Ontario. The initiative will roll-out to Toronto Criminal proceedings in Spring 2027 and then regionally in all areas of the courts practice.

As part of this launch:

  • A new public portal will be introduced to replace the Justice Services Online (JSO), enabling online filing, fee payment, case search, and more.
  • Case Center will be integrated with internal systems, so that counsel and parties will no longer have to upload material to the hearing platform after it has been filed through the portal and accepted by the courts. The platform will continue to be used to upload exhibits and other limited materials as directed by the courts.
  • Additionally, Case Center will be expanded to include Small Claims Court proceedings in Toronto.

To ensure a smooth transition, a range of training materials and support options will be made available.

  • For members of the Bar, training sessions along with supporting resources will be offered in September. Further details about the sessions will be shared shortly.
