Digital Information and Repository – Provincewide Rollout

June 8, 2026

The Ministry of the Attorney General, in partnership with the Ontario Court of Justice (OCJ), will be expanding the Digital Information and Repository (DIR) solution provincewide in fall 2026. The DIR is currently being used in the Toronto, Northeast and Northwest Regions

The DIR modernizes criminal court operations in the OCJ by providing real-time digital access to court information and reducing reliance on paper-based processes. Criminal Informations submitted via the eIntake application can be managed electronically, allowing them to be endorsed, retrieved, and shared digitally. The DIR securely stores all Informations in a cloud-based repository and enables Court Services Division staff to scan and upload related documents directly to the appropriate case file, improving efficiency, accessibility, and document management across the criminal justice system.

This milestone represents significant progress in modernizing Ontario’s criminal justice system, supporting faster and more reliable access to court information. Building on the initial phase of Courts Digital Transformation launched last year, this step continues our work to further ready the criminal justice system.
