  1. When did you first get involved with the OBA?

I became involved with the OBA in 2024.

  1. What is your role on the OBA Business Law Section?

I am a Member-at-Large on the OBA Business Law Section Executive. In this capacity, I participate in executive meetings, contribute to planning CPD sessions, articles, and policy discussions, and help connect the section's work to practical needs in corporate, commercial and securities law.

  1. What is/are your specific area(s) of practice?

Public & private M&A, shareholder activism, corporate governance, and capital markets/securities.

  1. How long have you been practicing?

Since 2017

  1. What is the most challenging aspect of your job?

Adapting to an ever-changing legal landscape.

  1. What is the most interesting or fulfilling aspect of your job?

Continuous learning and variety.

  1. If you were not practicing in your current area of law, what other area(s) of law could you see yourself in and why?

Real estate law given my background as a former real estate agent.

  1. What are you excited for as an executive member of the OBA Business Law Section?

I am excited to contribute to high-quality CPD events and resources that address timely topics in corporate, commercial, and securities law – especially the intersection of law and AI and how that has changed the legal landscape.

  1. What is the one thing you would like to see the OBA Business Law Section do this year?

The one thing I would like to see the OBA Business Law Section do this year is further expand its high-quality CPD offerings with even more specialized, hands-on sessions and workshops.

  1. Can you mention one exciting thing you have worked on recently?

A significant portion of my practice focuses on shareholder activism. I find shareholder activism to be exciting because of the interplay between strategic and legal thinking and the potential to reshape a company’s corporate direction going forward. Recently, I represented a shareholder that successfully brought about major governance improvements at a public company, including replacing a majority of the board of directors through a proxy fight.

  1. Where did you go to law school?

Osgoode Hall Law School (2016).

  1. What was the most helpful thing you learned in law school?

Critical thinking and issue-spotting. The ability to identify key legal issues in messy fact patterns, question assumptions, and consider both sides of an argument.

  1. What is the one piece of advice you wish someone had given you when you were still a student?

Explore different areas of law before committing. Try different things since you don’t know what you will like until you try it.

  1. What is your go-to mental health wellness activity?

Cycling, gym, skydiving, scuba diving. and rock climbing

  1. What is your go-to coffee order?

Flat white.
